Meet your trainer! Kajsa Wallin, a native Swede, now living in Belgrade Montana is our “in-house dog trainer”. She is also the one who raises and trains our turnkey puppies on the beautiful and expansive 160 acres she calls home.
Here at 406 Bernedoodles she’s developed a training and exercise program resulting in a daily tired and happy pack of dogs. She is a natural when it comes to working with dogs and describes her journey to being with us today in these words:
While growing up in Sweden I never had a dog. My parents didn’t want one and that was that. However, I was obsessed which resulted in me scouting out neighbors and friend just for the chance to walking their dogs! I was nine at the time, and that was the beginning of six silly, adventurous years me and the neighborhood canines had together. Every day after school I would look to see whose car was parked by their house. Then I knew I’d be able to go over and take whichever dog out for a trip to the soccer fields or out in to the woods.
After a couple of years I discovered that the local dog training club was just a bridge and an island away. Just a short 45min walk really. So off I would venture with my neighborhood canine of the day for agility training. Agility turned into obedience training. And that, it turn, to tracking.
Those days will always be some of my favorite childhood memories, those dogs brought me so much joy. A former obsession, has fostered itself into a robust interest in loving, training, and working with dogs in many different fields. I have worked at shelters, in private training scenarios, different types of kennels, and in several veterinary clinics/hospitals. I have received qualifications as a veterinary technician and from the National Animal Care & Control Association.
I’ve raised puppies, trained problem dogs, and recently even considered starting my own breeding program. But then I met Tori with 406 Bernedoodles and we have developed a great partnership. Through our combined experience and knowledge I know we will create something great.
She has allowed me to saddle up and take the rains of the turnkey training program. I am proud to be able to help bring perfect, happy, and balanced puppies to so many wonderful families. I can only dream about all the great memories to be had!
I believe that anyone can turn raising a puppy, or training a dog into a great success. What it boils down to is continued interest and determination. You need to be interested enough to educate yourself, while also, determined enough to maintain structured involvement. These important early training elements can take up more time than a lot of us have. And that is exactly why I am here and happy to help!
Sincerely, Kajsa Wallin
